    automatic allocation

    Hi,

I need to automate an allocation file which will be like below

    T87 N1 Completed
    T317 N2
    T74 N3
    T626
    T618
    T728
    T889
    T194
    T167

if N1 put status as "Completed i need to allocate T626 to N1

    T87 N1 Completed
    T317 N2
    T74 N3
    T626 N1
    T618
    T728
    T889
    T194
    T167

If N2 Put status as Completed then allocate T618 to N2

    T87 N1 Completed
    T317 N2 Completed
    T74 N3
    T626 N1
    T618 N2
    T728
    T889
    T194
    T167

Can some one help me on this???

    Re: automatic allocation

    What about the other numbers, T728 T889 T194 T167 ?

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Re: automatic allocation

same continues if N1 completed means T728 should be allocated to N1.
who ever completed first then they will be assigned to next task.

    Re: automatic allocation

Looks like you have three "resolvers" (people?) N1 N2 N3 and if whichever is available can be assigned the next task.
This looks like a job for VBA (or a very complicated formula for which I don't have time) but I'm no expert, so you should throw this open to the forum as you've done.

What happens if BOTH N1 and N2 have completed jobs, who should be assigned then?
Not sure why I'm asking this as I can't progress with this any further.

yes, n1, n2 and n3 are resolvers, at most no one will complete simultaneously.
