Pls look at the attached sample excel sheet.
Trying to do a matching on the column A and B with column C and D.
If column A and column C match, check if the column B price added up tally with column D total price.
using vlookup or sum product?

The problem is that your figures in column B are text that look like numbers. Don't type in the $ sign. Just type in th enumber and format the cell to contain the$ sign. Then this works:
=SUMIF(A:A,C2,B:B)
