Custom sort list issue [Excel 2011 for Mac]

So I've got a worksheet going and I've tried to create a custom list to sort from. Everything appears to be working as specified except when I get to a certain value [4" and up] and then it goes wonky on me. Here's some screens of the data I'm working with and my list I've created. I can provide a sample spreadsheet if needed. What's weird is that it sorts fine in the pivot table but not in the worksheet that's driving it. Any ideas on how to fix this minor issue? It's not a huge deal but it bothers me enough to want to fix it. I've tried recreating the list several times entering the data in other worksheets but I can't seem to get it to act right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
