How to completely flip a register with no other sorting

In an effort to stop paying Quicken for upgrades, I've been trying to re-create my bank accounts in Excel. All I want to do is duplicate what my bank already has online but then go through and mark anything that has to do with taxes.

I can download all my transactions since Jan 1 till today--but they come out with today first and Jan 1 last. I sorted it by date--oldest to newest--and was going blithely along until I realized that the balances were all wonky. I mean, $737 - $24 does NOT equal $669. It dawned on me that I wasn't getting an exact reversal of the account but that days that had several transactions were being sorted out of the same order as the bank had them.

So HOW do I get Excel just to simply flip a register from bottom to top without doing any other kind of sorting?

    Thanks!

Well I worked out a way for myself but tell me if there was another way to do it. I added a column and numbered it 1 to 800+, then I sorted the table by that column, largest to smallest, and everything is now in correct order.

    Yay!

That's how I'd have done it -- good job.
