timestamp comments on creation or update

    Helloo ..

I am using Micrsoft Office 2013 .. Can anyone please help me with this ..

I want to add comment and have "timestamp and date" it everytime I add any comment to a cell, and even when I add further comments to existing comments. So that I can have kind of a history .. I am trying to use excel for kind of note keeping ..

I am new to excel so sorry for asking very starting question .. I have tried to google but couldn't find exact solution .

Also I am very beginner, all I know is maybe some kind of macro or vba code is needed. and to add a macro you have to press alt+f11 ..

Ill be glad if someone can guide me like a step by step guide ..

Thanks A lot in advance !

    Hi,
open this add in and follow the wizard to add it to your add-ins folder. To enable / disable the add in, go to File> Options / Addins and tick / untick the add in.

To use, right click in a cell and you will see a new menu item at the top to add a comment. This will add a time stamped comment to your sheet.

This will work for anyone who has the add-in.

[edit] won't let me upload an add in

    Thank you for replying ..

I am grateful for your efforts.. Please check the image ..Comment_Log.png

Please check the following link "http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/709424-date-time-stamp-comments.html"

This is close to what I want .. but I want to be able to do this on all the cell not just specifically to cell a1..

Please check the code at the end of the above link by "Tom Urtis" .. I couldn't get it to work for me ... plus if you can please update it so that I can add comment in log fashion to any cell ..

    Thanks in advance (:
