    why do EXCEL transform uppercase to lowercase?

    In a new sheet I type "B/CAO" (without the quotes), then EXCEL change that to "B/cao" (without the quotes).

    Why does this happen?

    Excel 2013 works fine for me.

    Check your autocorrect settings. When I have seen this, it is due to autocorrect.

    This can be irritating because it seems that autocorrect settings are office wide -- which means that I cannot have this kind of rule active in Word (where I would like to have it) and have it inactive in Excel (where I often don't want it).
