I am having trouble finding how to highlight duplicate values in a single column across a whole work book.
I can easily highlight duplicate values in a single column in a work sheet, via conditional formatting > highlight cell rules > duplicate values. That works fine for a single work sheet.
To give an idea of what I want to achieve, I have a spreadsheet to record invoices received, in column ‘D’ I enter the invoice number. I have separate worksheets for each month. I want to get the spreadsheet to highlight a duplicate invoice in the entire work book.
i.e if I receive an invoice in January numbered 1234 and enter it in the worksheet labelled January, I want the spreadsheet to highlight that invoice number 1234 if I was to enter the invoice in February (separate worksheet).
Any ideas on how I could accomplish this?
