Hi,
I have a problem with trying to calculate the correct reading ages when children have a reading age below their actual chronological age.
The attached data shows actual ages and calculates reading ages by comparing the two.
When the reading age is higher than the actual age, the result is correct. However, when the reading age is lower than the actual age, I get anomalies.
For example, in the test data, cell B4 shows an actual age of 6 Years and 3 Months and a reading age of 6 years and 4 months (D4) which calculates to a reading age difference of 0 years and 1 month (E4).
However, when you look at a reading age which is lower than the actual age, I get wrong results.
For example, in the test data, cell B5 shows an actual age of 6 Years and 8 Months and a reading age of 6 years and 7 months (D5) which should calculate to a reading age difference of minus 0 years and 1 month but incorrectly calculates to a reading age difference of 0 years and 11 months (E5).
I would like to say that the formula already in the test data has kindly been supplied by people in this forum.
I hope someone can help me with this.
Many thanks
