Auto resizing when using filter

Hello everyone,

I'm having the following problem. I have a table with some merged rows and I want them to stay like that, but when I filter the data by a criteria (analyst), it resizes the rows and instead 3 (just like I want to be), excel reduces it to just one.

I will be very grateful if someone is able to help me with this problem as I couldn't find any solution to disable the auto resize.

Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest not using MERGED cells as they are terrible.
Repeating the data in each row is by far superior in EVERY way.

If you had three rows with the same information and filtered on that, then all three rows would stay, instead of the one.

This is why people build standardized datasets where each row is populated in a uniform manner. It allows for pivoting and filtering and great reporting. When you deviate you start having to work around the problems you brought in just by having merged cells... if that makes any sense.


If you WANTED, you COULD just add the values to the cells and format the text so you cant visibly see it but Excel will then treat it correctly.
