Merge a text in a cell to multiple rows

Hi,

I used to know how to do this, but forgot. I can merge the text in cell A1 with text in cell B1, and produce the result in cell C1. This was done with: =A1&" "&B1

Suppose I have some text in cell A1, but all other rows in column A are empty. Several rows of column B contain different text. I want the text in A1 to be merged with the text in all the rows in column B. How would I go about doing this? If I drag the result in C1 downward, I get copies of it, and the anchoring function I'm probably using incorrectly.

If you mean you want the formula to look at A1 each time and combine it with B1, then B2, then B3 etc. then try =A$1&" "&B1
