Football Predictions

Hi Everyone,
I am currently running a predictions league for me and my friends. I manually enter the scores in for each player which then links to the league table which I then sort manually.

Is there anyway that I could have each individual scores calculated automatically, think it may be a IF formula but I am not sure.

Has anyone got any templates that I could possible use

Try this in cell G4 on sheet Week 1 then copy down and right as necessary.
Due to the way your predictions are recorded (i.e. home and away score in same cell meaning they're text rather than numbers) I've used LEFT and RIGHT *1 in the formulas to extract the scores and turn them into numbers that can be compared with the actual scores.

You will need to adjust the formula slightly for other sheets (weeks) due to inconsistent layout in your workbook, but it should be obvious what needs altering and is usually just row numbers.

This will work for predictions from 0 to 9. Perhaps unlikely to happen but if someone predicted double digit scores (10 - 2 for example) then this approach will return incorrect points.

I've built many of these over the years each with a varying level of complexity and function. Unfortunately they're all tucked away on an old laptop that I don't have access to right now. I will come back and post one when I have access to them, just in case it's of any use to you.
