Adding a second H lookup

Please could some one help. Im trying to add a second Hlookup criteria but struggling to get it to work.

this is my current formula

=VLOOKUP($D$5,summary2,HLOOKUP($A78,summary3,2,FALSE),FALSE)

So the criteria for the second H lookup is in cell G74 and that can be found in the table array named summary3 in row 4. I cant seem to get it to work. Any help please will be greatly appreciated.

The layout of the formula looks fine as you have the required detail in there, however the issue may be caused by where and what you're asking Excel to look for.

you suggest G74 and then Row 4 however you have A78 in your HLOOKUP and row index 2 listed and not 4. Could be that.

=VLOOKUP($D$5,summary2,HLOOKUP(G74,summary3,4,FALSE),FALSE)

Otherwise if you can you upload a sample file and I can take a look at this for you.

So what's the second look up for? If you current formula now representing the value you want to look up?
