    CONCATENATE function with If Condition

    Dear All,

I have attached a picture here, I need a formula to calculate that.

Column A has the reference value, in column B i have the data.

Value in A might repeat no of time, I need to CONCATENATE the data in column B.

If A repeats 4 time, then it should concatenate all the data in B.

    PLS HELP

Re: CONCATENATE function with If Condition

I don't understand the logic here, as I would expect the second group of concatenations to be for the values of Y, i.e.:

    1.15;1.9;1.1:12.19;

Please explain how you have arrived at the values that you show.

    Pete

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for your attention and support!

When column A has same value, it should concatenate Column B.

I have did this manually now but I am checking is there any formula or method to get it easily.

Awaiting your response! Thanks in advance

Re: CONCATENATE function with If Condition

So, moving down column A, the second X is obviously the same as the X above it so you want to concatenate B2 and B3 - I get that.

The next cell, the first Y, is not the same as the cell above, so don't concatenate - okay, no problem.

The second Y is the same as the cell above it, so don't you want to see 1.15;1.9; in C5 (i.e. B4&B5) ?

The third Y is the same as the cell above, so shouldn't B6 be 1.15;1.9;1.1; and then on to B7.

Your examples don't seem to follow any pattern, so it is difficult to deduce what should be happening.

    Pete
