    Extracting characters from a URL

    Hello everyone,

    I have an URL in which I'd like to extract only a few part of it.
    Example:
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    I need to omit few characters in the URL.
    The output has to be
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Someone please help me.

    You've not given us a lot to work with, in particular what determines how much of the string you want. I'm assuming you want everything up to the "ref". In which case
