My data validation list does not have the arrow for opening the list

My data validation list does not have the arrow for opening the list. It worked fine until today and now the only way I can access the list is to right click and select from a drop down list. I would really like to get back the way it was. Thanks

Is the "In-cell dropdown" box ticked when you click on Data Validation for that cell?

Yes Pete it is. I have watched the video's and all the help from within Excel Help. Nothing seems to help

Perhaps you should attach the offending workbook.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.
