    Formula help!

    Hi all!

I'm currently working on a tv show and when I got to my desk this morning, I found I had to recreate a Stunts Budget spreadsheet.

My current hangup involves creating some sum fields. What i'm trying to do is total up a column of text. This specific text involves how many stunt men will need to be put in a hotel. So, as far as I can tell, the field will either say Yes or No, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to come up with a number of total Yeses at the bottom of the column. If needed, I can include a photo of the handwritten document I'm meant to recreate, and thanks for all the help!

    Re: Formula help!

You can use something like this:

    =COUNTIF(A:A,"Yes")

to count the number of Yes items in column A.

    Hope this helps.

Pete, you legend. I can't believe all my googling didn't give me the COUNTIF formula, but that is exactly what I needed! Thanks!
