Question Look up grade from a table of values

    Hi

apologies if this is not in the correct forum
I have limited knowledge of excel and some of the SUM functions. I have a risk grade that I am trying to automate in excel.
    The variances are as follows:

    0-100 = R1
    100-125 = R2
    125-225 = R3
    225-325 = R4
    325-425 =R5
    425-525 = R6

So once the final score (left hand column) has been calculated, can I insert a sum into excel to automatically populate the cell with the overall risk grade (right hand column) ??

    Thanks in advance

    Scotia

    Welcome to the forum.

How 0-100 is calculated (On the left hand column)?
what do you want to be calculated as R1 (On the right hand column)?

    Best Regards

Re: Look up grade from a table of values

    Hi Imran

0-100 is calculated using two different measures, as these are subjective I have not included them in this calculation, but they will supply a final score between 0-525.

R1 would be a final score between 0-100

    Thanks

Re: Look up grade from a table of values

    Hi,

See the attached where I've added a table called 'Grades' and lookup formulae in column B

Note that your current ranges overlap. i.e. what grade is a score of 100. The 0-100 = R1 or the 100-225 = R2. You'll need to correct those where necessary. I have assumed the break points in column H.

    The formula in B2..etc is
    Formula: copy to clipboard
