    Report Formatting Messing up Vlookup?

    Hello,

The value "Generated on:" in column B will change week-to-week depending on the number of rows. I have set up a vlookup all the way through row 3000 (which will more than cover the number of rows the report would ever grow to), but I can't get the date value to populate. Is the data in the cell formatted, so that the vlookup won't pick it up? The formula I'm trying to get to work is M4 and the data of the "Generated on:" value is in cell B1402. I have attached the report. Please let me know how I can fix this? Index Match, Trim?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi lipper,

You have some extra stuff in your B1402 cell. See you have wrapped text in that cell. Put you cursor in the cell behind the*":" and press delete a few times. Then things should work for you.

    Hi Marvin,

I was afraid of that. I don't want to have to go into that cell each time to delete out the extra spaces. Is there another formula or a way to modify the existing formula to capture the current extra spaces in the cell?

    Try this formula,

    =VLOOKUP("*Generated on:*",B12:C3000,2,FALSE)*
