    Attaching Scans/Pictures to excel

    Hi,

I tried and succeeded to attache scanned copies od ID/Passports ect to my staffs excel sheet by hyperlink. It all looked great, I just clicked on there ID number and up popped a scan of it. Same with security permits ect.

My problem is I emailed it and they all disapeared. Im not good with excel so can anyone tell me what I did wrong or point me in another direction to do similar so that it can be emailed and still show the scanned copies.

    Many thanks

    Where does the hyperlink point?
Does it point at a folder on your hard drive?

The images need to be placed (and the hyperlinks pointed at) somewhere everybody has access to (intranet page, shared folder on server)

Or the images need to be embedded somewhere within the workbook

It needs to be portable, email, USB etc.

That's what I did not understand with hyperlinks, looked great till i emailed it away from original computer.

It's always obvious once you know

One option would be to embed the images in cell comments (see attached workbook)

    Comment_Pic.jpg

Be careful to right-click at the edge of the box (otherwise you only get to format text)

    Comment_Format.jpg

    Comment_FillEffects.jpg

    Comment_SelectPic.jpg
