Inserting Permanent word in a cell

Hello. I'm trying to insert a permanent word into a cell, that when you type into the cell, it will show before the words that are typed in.

In Cell A4, I want to insert permanently the words "Supervisor on Duty:"

Then, I'd like users to be able to go to A4, insert there name (i.e. John Smith), and after they hit enter, the end result be in A4 "Supervisor on Duty: John Smith"

    Thank you

For the range, set custom format.

    Enter following in Type:
    "Supervisor On Duty:" @

You might need to enter a space in the empty cell to get that one to work as you seem to want it to work..

Thanks. is there a way to get the "Supervisor on Duty" to show even when there is nothing typed in there (other than typing a space)?

I can't think of a way without use of VBA.

A very messy non-VBA method would be to enter into cell B4 the following:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Format cell B4's Horizontal alignment to "Right (Indent)" and add/subtract the number of spaces in the above formula so that the "Supervisor on Duty: " text overlaps cell A4.

Very messy method as this does not work well if worksheet gets zoomed in/out.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

One last question, if I were to go down the VBA route, would i have to save the file as an XLSM file?
