    Force Read-Only Access Database Connection

    Hi,

I'm using Excel to connect to an Access database table that I am overwriting frequently. I'm importing the table from Access into Excel and the data from the table then feeds into my spreadsheet.
However, every time I attempt to overwrite the database table, I get an error saying the table is open in another program, i.e. Excel. Is there a way I can force Excel to treat this as a read-only connection such that I can overwrite the Access table without having to first close the worksheet first?

    Any help is appreciated.

How are you connecting to Access? The connection should be read only and you can go to Data -> Connections and set it up to refresh every x minutes. Collisions should be minimal and it would be Excel that gets the error.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
