When i tried to compute the value on calculator got the value as 142.857 but in excel value comes as 130 (=J2+(J2*I3%).

Please assist with formula how to get the exact value.

    Duty 30% 142
    Freight 5.5% 151
    Clearance 10% 167
    Octroi 4% 176
    Current Dollar Value 65
    Total value 11372 INR

    Duty 30% 130
    Freight 5.5%
    Clearance 10%

    Re: Calculation Issue

30% of 100 is 30, so 100 plus 30% is 130. How have you and your calculator arrived at 142?

    Yes....

To get the value we have to follow the formula (Basic value + 30% +5.5%+10%+4%*65) if you compute with calculator value will come 142

    Eg : 100 (basic value) + 30% = 142

    Re: Calculation Issue

Your calculator is wrong or you are entering the calculation incorrectly (more likely the latter). Look, it's basic mental maths:

What is 1% of 100? Easy - divide 100 by 100 and you get 1.
What is 1 x 30. Easy - that's your one times table and the answer is 30.
So, if 1% of 100 is 1, then 30% of 100 is 30, and you need to add this to your basic value of 100.
I'm not Einstein, but I do know that 100+30 is 130, not 142!
