Production Planning calendar, don't know where to start.

Hi All

Some background i have a system that outputs when the next production date(NPD) for all products based on current stock, daily sales and any already planned production or large orders.

I'm trying to take these Suggested Production dates(NPD) and put them and any set production dates into a calendar in excel based on a multitude of rules(10ish).

Ie no more than 80,000 of product produced in 1 day. Product x can only go with product y. Product z only produced on Tuesday. No Production at weekend. etc

Just looking for ideas, as i can only think of doing a boat load of if statements or making like a matrix of rules(no idea about how to do this)

So it will try and put production of product A on its NPD date, if it can't due to one of the rules failing then it will try the day before, repeat. Don't know if its even possible.

Any ideas or formulas to consider are much appreciated.

Make up a dummy version of what you start with and add the results that you would like to see. No need to put the formulas in yet but write a description of where the result should come from.
