    Automatic sorting

    Hi,

I am currently trying to create some sort of competition for my football team, where the results will be based on what happens during the games. Points are given to each individual player after every match, much like fantasy leagues.

I've created an excel sheet, where I put in each player's score after the matches. Is there any way to create an automatic sorting of the players with most points?

Example: After round 1, the top scorers were player A, player B and player C. After plotting their scores, the list will sort them. After the next round, player B, player C and player D scored the most points, so the list should now sort the new total top scorer. I do know how to sort, but I need the players name to be included in the list as well. So, connecting a name to a score, and then automatically sort the list.

I'm sorry if this is confusing.

EDIT: The sorted list is a separate list based on the list where I add points.

    Re: Automatic sorting

    Hi,

Yes provided the data is correctly laid out and there are no blank columns between rounds.
To do it automatically will require a macro, but you'll need to upload the workbook for us to see where stuff is before we could give you the code

Alternatively you can do it manually by selecting the whole of your data and then using the Data Sort functionality and pick the column to be used as the Sort key.
