Creating a date based Gantt chart to track stock levels

    Hi Guys,

Long time Excel user, first time poster!

    We're a small distribution/manufacturing organisation.
In order to easily and readily track our stock usage and reordering requirements, I'm trying to create a visual representation (aka Gantt chart) of our stock on hand levels.
Unfortunately the inventory management system we use has fairly poor reporting data so I need to be able to update these figures manually at any time (i.e. it can't be done automatically).
So I need some kind of dynamic formula and/or formatting setup utilising TODAY with the stock items listed along the Y axis and the dates running along the X axis at the top.
I've read a few online articles doing something similar to this but nothing that quite hits the mark as they always seem to feature date ranges rather than tracking ad infinitum.
Using my existing reports I already have a list of the items we need to track, and a calculated date as to when that stock will be depleted (based on a usage formula) so all I'm really trying to add is a Gantt-style visual representation of that date.
At the moment this end figure is represented as a long-form date however this could easily be converted into a number of days if that makes the value easier to represent.

Would welcome any feedback, advice or suggestions as to how to make this happen.
I realise I'm covering a bit here so please let me know if you have any questions or need further information on any part of this project.

    Thanks,
    Luke
