Dynamic Calendar in Excel (formulas only) - Multiple Day Projects: Improve aesthetics?

Sorry for thread hi-jacking earlier. I was reading this thread, and it mostly answered a question I had regarding creating a dynamic calendar for multiple day projects.

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-gen...-projects.html

    My question is this:

I'm curious if you know of any way, using your example calendar as a starting point, to have it so that an item stays on the same row in a given week. In other words, 39811425-James starts on 4/15/2017 on the fifth row, and completes on 4/18/2017 on the top row, as other projects in this range complete, the placement of this specific project moves up to the top row in that day. If I were wanting to keep a project on the same row throughout the duration of the project, would this be possible?

If the project stretches to the next week, any project started the previous week would move up to the top positions, keeping the same order as they had the week before.

Additionally, would there be a way to prioritize the projects within the calendar so that the active project with the earliest start date is listed on top within the calendar? In the example calendar (great work Pete_UK, btw), if you add another project on the Data sheet, if it has an earlier start date, it is displayed as the bottom project once a project in a higher row on the sheet begins.

Thank you for any ideas on how to accomplish this!

Thanks for starting another thread - it helps if we all follow the same rules!

I can't think of an easy way to achieve what you are asking for, unless you have a small number of projects overall so that we can say that Project X will always be on the 3rd row for any week, and Project M will be on row 5 etc. You will need to describe the type of data that you have in more detail (or attach a sample Excel workbook).

I won't be able to get back to you for a few days, as I'm away for a wedding from Friday to Monday, but I can pick up any response from you when I return.

    Pete

    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, I have quite a few projects being managed at any one time. I've attached my tracking workbook. All of the sheets are protected/locked, but there isn't a password. I just have them locked so I don't accidentally screw up any formulas.

On a side note, I used quite a bit from the calendar you provided within the other thread in my calendar/references, so thank you for sharing that earlier. It was a huge help!
