I have a list of data in column A - alongside it I have a list of consecutive dates in column B.
I want to use the data filter to change the data list A - but I want the date column B to remain static - how do I do this?
Thank You.

Are the dates regularly spaced, or random?
It's really not very clear what you want. Try this, though:
=SUBTOTAL(3,$B$1:B1)-1+DATE(2017,1,1)
This will generate a list of dates, starting from 01/01/2017

Hello Glenn.
I have a column of random data. Next to this column I have a column of consecutive dates - starting on the 10th December, 2016 then following through until 30th April, 2018. This is unimportant. I want the dates to remain in order - even when I filter and sort the data in the other column.
So... try that on my sheet and tell me where it falls down...
