Adding number to a succession of cells?

Perhaps it's just my failing memory but I could have sworn I could once do the following sort of thing easily:

I have a couple of text entries in col A:
    Day 1:
    Day 2:

I want to end up with say 30 rows, successively numbered:
    Day 1:
    Day 2:
    Day 3:
    .
    .
    Day 29:
    Day 30:

Is that indeed possible with Excel 2016 please?

    Put "Day 1" in A1

Move the cursor to the right hand bottom corner of A1 until a thin black cross appears
Click and drag down column A

You should get a succession of Day numbers, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4 etc appearing

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Thanks, but that doesn't work with the added colon!

Type 1 in the first cell and 2 in the second,
Select both cells and pull the fill handle down until you get to the 30th cell,
Simultaneously press the Ctrl and 1 keys,
    Select 'Custom',
In the 'Type' bar paste "Day" 0":" (Note: there is a space between "Day" and 0 but not between 0 and ":")
    Select 'OK'

Small tweak to essentially use the format from JeteMc's solution
    =TEXT(ROWS($1:1),"""Day ""0"":""")
    Don

Thank you. Syntax of TEXT occasionally stymies me.
