Opening CSV file in Excel 2016

I am wanting to be able to open a CSV file in Excel 2016 without having to import. Until Excel 2013, this was possible but now, when opening the file, the data is all in one column.

I've searched the internet about this and found that one solution provided doesn't work for me: making sure the Windows list symbol setting is a comma. It is on my computer and it doesn't resolve this.

The other solution is to open in notebook and entering an "sep=," as the first line of the file. This does work, but seems ridiculous to have to do every time you want to open a CSV file - as it is ridiculous that later versions of Excel don't do what was default functionality in earlier versions!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Have you checked this solution?

You've stated "making sure the Windows list symbol setting is a comma."
This suggests you change it so it IS NOT a comma.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

If you mean in the file, the deliminator is a coma in the file.

So if the Window's setting is a comma, the file should open correctly, correct? But it isn't.

Can you post a sample selection of the file?
