Locating Where External Sources are Used

    Hello,

I am using a workbook that is giving the following warning upon opening. "This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe. If you trust the links, update them to get the latest data. Otherwise, you can keep working with the data you have." This workbook is a template that multiple people use and is not supposed to have any external references. I am trying to find a way to see which cells are using this external source so it can be removed for future use. I have tried using the search function to search for [ and .xl in all the formulas across the workbook. I have also checked in the Name Manager to make sure none of them were referring to an external source. By using Edit Links on the Data tab I can see that there is one external source in the workbook, but cannot see which cells are referencing it. Is there another way to do this? Unfortunately I cannot upload a copy of the workbook in question as it contains confidential data.

    Thank you

From the ribbon try Inquire - Workbook Analysis

If you don't see it - right click on the ribbon - Customize the Ribbon - find and tick Inquire

    sandy666,

I do not have to option to use Inquire. I also tried to find it by going to manage COM Add-Ins, but it did not show up there either.

I may not have the proper .NET Framework installed on my computer. Since it is a work computer I do not have access to view what version I have.
