Excel 2016 - Find Function

Hi, I just started using Excel 2016 and is having trouble using the "find" feature.

In the old excel (2013), I can search through the entire worksheet for the name of the file that was linked in the worksheet as formula.

now, when I do it, the system just tell me "it cannot find any". But if I break the link of this file from "Edit Links", i can see some of my cells having issues. I did try to find by putting in "FC7 2017.xls" etc but same issue.

Has anyone encountered such?

Another issue I have is ...in the "edit link" dialog box. There are times I see double of the file name appearing! There is no change in the file name and it shows up twice in the dialog box.

For first issue, my guess is reference is somehow broken and has #Ref in place of string you are searching for.
It would help, if you can upload sample workbook.

For the second, I'm guessing that you have named range and cell, both referring to another file. When you open up name manager what do you see?

I cannot upload the workbook because it is highly confidential.

I am very sure we did not name ranged and cells. the workbook was built with very straight-forward method. cells might have direct link to other files to extract data in the formula.
