VLOOKUP; Looking up value based off of text...

I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to use a VLOOKUP formula. My information is spread between multiple sheets - I'm trying to look up information based off of part of a word, am I able to do this (I'd be looking up the first 5 letters of a phrase).

We really need more information. Where are the VLOOKUP formulae and where are the words you're looking up?

Sorry for my incomplete post, I actually figured it out on my own...thanks for the help though, this forum is such a useful tool and so helpful and I keep learning so much!
