INDEX MATCH formula not returning expected result

    Hi all,

I have an INDEX MATCH formula that has been causing me some issues. I thought I had solved the issue as it's been months since the formula hasn't worked properly but now the issue has arisen again.

I have attached my workbook. The issue is with the formula in cell E18 on the Summary sheet. The odd thing is if you manually change the minimum value from 54.4 to any other value then the date it occurred is returned.

    Thanks,

    Luke

54.44 and 54.40 are not an exact match - simple as that.

Its a rounding issue I think. Putting ROUND() in the first argument of MATCH makes it return a result.

My guess is that due to the operations on the 54.4 (or .544) when multiplying or dividing (as you do in multiple different places in preceding formulas) that they are a small tiny fraction different than each other but that difference doesn't seem to be displayed any place.

Thanks to both of you for your help.

You're right, Zer0, I don't really understand what is happening when the number is multiplied but adding ROUND fixes the issue.

Marked as solved and reputation added.
