Table formatting does not extend when new table rows are auto-created (Excel 2016)

    All,

I have an Excel table that automatically extends downward when data is entered immediately below the table. However, the table formatting is not applied to the new row(s). The new table rows essentially have default formatting.

I'm attaching a "Before" worksheet that shows the table in its original state, and an "After' worksheet that shows the extended table with the unformatted new row.

Could someone help me revise the "Before" worksheet so that the formatting continues as the table extends?

    Thanks,

    Jay

You can use format painter to copy the formats to next cells.

Highlight D14:O14 > Home > Format Painter > click and hold on D7 and release on O14 (i.e. Highlight D7:O14).

Now when you create new rows, they will automatically have the correct formatting.

And use appropriate extension for the files from Ex2016 - xlsx, not from old Ex2003 - xls

You are welcome, thanks for the feedback

xls format doesn't support some things from higher version of excel (2003 vs 2016)
