Is there a way to make a better short cut key in Excel?

I use copy paste 1000 times a day with the work I do.

Is there a way I can create a new short cut key for both copy and paste.

Right now I have to find the Control key together with the C key to copy or use the mouse.

Can I simple change that trigger to simple one key like the 1 key at the top to tell it to copy and the 2 key at the top to tell it to paste.

Simply using one key stroke would save me hours from having to find the Ctrl C or Ctrl V keys together.

Let me know how to do it or any youtube videos I can watch.

and program another key on the keyboard to take a macro command to paste the content?
