Can't change Excel 2003 VBA editor font

I am running Excel 2003 with all available updates and service packs on Windows 10 Home, Creators Edition, on a Dell 13 Laptop.
The VBA Editor screen font is set at Arial 9.
If I try to change it, it remains at 9.
By comparison, I have the same Excel 2003 version on my PC with Windows 10 and there I can change the font size with no problem.
I have trawled the net extensively and whilst various solutions are suggested (the most common being to change the Laptop's screen resolution / DPI)
none has any effect.
I realise this is probably not strictly an Excel problem, but it must be known in this excellent Forum and it would be great to hear any suggestions that might help.

Typically 250, but I've tried 300 and whilst that makes a difference to some apps, Excel is unaffected by the change.

Tried all settings below 250 but still made no difference.
