IF Statement on multiple cell ranges return true

    Hi,

I have gone completely brain dead today as I can't get this formula to work, but I am probably going the wrong way about it!?

I have a spreadsheet that contains numerous rows and columns and all I want is a specific row to return a true or false statement if the date matches the same date in a another row and a different department. I have attached an example(image) of the spreadsheet.

    EXCEL FORUM.JPG

So what I would like is that if the date (column D) of department (column I) = "ITU" and begins with (column E) ="BF*" then match to date (column D) of department (column I) = "Theatre" and where (Column E) begins with "V*". Return True or false in (column T).

Is this something that can be done or an alternative way of doing it as it is really annoying me

I think I have a work around with the match formula if anyone else has a similar problem

In column U I have added an if formula to return a date reference for Theatre

In column T I have another if formula that returns another date reference for ITU

and finally in column T I have a match formula to check if there is a match

Maybe I was looking to hard at it
