Highlight a cell if it contains a time?

I can highlight any cells in a column that contain a comment with conditional formatting.

I would like to pick up any cell in that column that has a time in it and colour that cell in a different colour if its possible?

Any comment at all would be amber and any cell with a time would be red ideally.

I only need to highlight cells so someone can check the information and then delete or correct manually once they are happy.

    I have attached a few sample lines.Highlight Time.xlsx

Try to set defaul color: red

CF formula for time in G1 (value that <=1)
    =G1<=1

    Applies to whole column G

Re: Highlight a cell if it contains a time?

Thank you for the reply Bebo021999 but I can't seem to get that to work?

I want to highlight cells in column F. (Column G has start times in it too and this is the column my macros etc pick up from but sometimes we need to change these times due to a manual error)

If there is a comment that contains a time (maybe it would pick up any number in the time?) it would colour the cell Red,

If there is a comment that is letters only it would colour the cell orange/amber.

It is only to draw someones attention to the fact there is a possible change or problem and they they can act on that before proceeding.

I have attached the entire sheet we use called 'TRG Sheets', we copy and paste information supplied in the sample sheet 'Example of TRG' into TRG Sheet and then work from that.

As you can see from that there are changes to start times and we need to double check these.

    Try

    For Format of RED

    =ISNUMBER(SEARCH(":",$F1))

Assumes times are ALWAYS formatted as hh:mm i.e have a colon

    For ORANGE

    =$F1<>""

NOTE: RED rrule is highest prioity (first in CF list)

Thank you John. I was so obsessed with the numbers I forgot all about the colon
