Number of occupants in a given date range

Say I have a spreadsheet with a check-in date and a check-out date for multiple guests. Would it be possible to see how many guests where checked-in on any given date and in any given date range? I have poured through forums and questions and have been unable to piece this together myself. On the surface it seems to be a simple enough request. However, I haven't found anything that even gets me in the right direction. Thank you for any assistance and guidance.

It would depend how your data is structured but sure anything is possible.

For each guest there are multiple entries for data. The only relevant data here is the check-in and check-out dates. I assume I would need to convert those two dates into an entire range (possibly in another spreadsheet) then query that range. I feel that this sort of thing has to have been done before so I don't want to poorly reinvent the wheel.

Maybe attach a workbook with what you have and someone may be able to help.
