Question Looking to automatically delete rows with certain values in 2 columns and sum=0 in another

    Hello,

I am new and this is my first post, so please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong spot.

I am looking for a way to automatically go through several thousand rows of data in a spreadsheet, comparing data in columns, and deleting affected rows. In example, if a row and another row contain the same value of data in columns A and B, and their sum equals zero in column C, those rows will be deleted.

    Thank you.

Re: Looking to save some time

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to re-read forum rule #1 and then amend your thread title to something that better explains your problem. Changing your thread title is not optional, which means you must change it. Thanks!

    • Use concise, accurate thread titles.
    • Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.
    • Use terms appropriate to a Google search - poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice tell us nothing.
    • Responding to a request to change your thread title by doing so is mandatory.

To change a title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title.

No help to be offered, please, until the OP complies with this request.

Does anybody have an idea on this topic? I really am looking for a simple solution instead of turning to the programming route.

    Thank you.

Hello LordCrimsonKing and Welcome to Excel Forum.
Thank You for changing the title.
Perhaps this will be of help depending on how closely the actual data resembles the .jpg in post #1.
A column (E) is added that will attempt to identify those rows that should not be included in the final list using:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

A table of data that meets the criteria (H:J) is populated using:

I was unable to post actual work as it would be in violation of HIPPA. The workbook contains Patient Health Information. Essentially it is an export of a report that details fills and reversals of prescriptions, and the image I included is what I look for mostly while weeding out reversals, leaving me with the data I need to audit them.

In the example, Column A would be the Rx #, Column B is the Fill #, and Column C is the quantity - hence Columns A and B must match and Column C must equal to zero.

I will try out the formulas you have listed when I get in to work tomorrow. Thank you.
