Struggling with Supplied Excel Calendarto have three months created from a cell with date

Hello. I want to integrate an Excel based calendar into one of my spreadsheets. (File > New > Any Year One Month Calendar). I have attached the test file. I have two problems - (1) I have tried to customize the MS supplied file and need some minor help and (2) I then want to copy everything into a much larger spreadsheet and I need direction.

    (1) I am trying to enhance a tool that we use for managing internal and customer documentation. Based on a date (on the Preference tab Tab, cell B29) I want to create three successive "month at a glance" calendars on the Calendar Tab. It looks like is works except some minor formatting and I cannot figure out how to fix. If you look at the first month, it is in the correct format (i.e. the last two days of April and the first several days in June show on the calendar but is light gray while the days in May are regular font). But if you look at months 2 and 3 (i.e. June and July), all days on those calendars are regular font but I want the light gray when it is before and after the active month. There are conditional formatting setup, but I cannot determine where to "fix" it.

    (2) Once you point me to the fix for #1, then I want to copy this into a much larger spreadsheet. If you look at the MS supplied tool, there are numerous Managed Names (Formulas > Name Manager) which I needed to add additional ones for Calendars 2 and 3. How do I copy the Managed Names and all of the references to a new workbook? When I tried to copy the Calendar sheet to a new workbook, many of the fields are incorrect. Thoughts?

I appreciate your help in advance!

    Hi jshrader,

The problem with #1 is that the conditional rule format for that given area is not set correctly.
First select in the calendar sheet cell B6, then open the rules manager for the conditional format.
(go to menu : Home - Conditional Formatting - Manage Rules... , a popup window opens.)

You should see the popup windows with the current selection's rules.
If you see all rules , select "current selection" in the "show formatting rules for:" combobox.

Click on "edit rule", and you'll see that the following rule is applied to the selection.

If you do the same for cell B26 and B46, you'll see a difference in the formula used.
after the <> there is 'month2' and 'month3', but it should be 'MONTH'(B26) or 'MONTH(B46)'
If you change month2 or month3 in the formula into MONTH, apply it and the formula should now give you a gray shaded font.

for your second Q : I copied the calen, dar to a new book, but all fields stayed exactly as they were.
I cannot reproduce your error or the view you get.
Can you post a workbook sample with the wrong fields?
Even a little help can be a big help !!
    1. A sample workbook says more then words. Add problem description and solution so we can understand the problem.

Thank you for your reply MarMo! You were right on with the fix to #1. I am attaching two files. The first is the fixed file based on #1 above.
The second is the copied sheet with #VALUE in almost every referenced cell. Can you do your magic and explain what is the difference between the two files?

Thanks much in advance for your help!!!

    Hi jshrader,

I've seen your books, but i cannot reproduce these errors.
It seems that, when copying the sheets to a new book, not all Named Ranges were copied as well.
So in your copy of the book, those cells with #VALUE or #NAME in it, refer to Named Ranges that have not been copied to the new book.

I've copied the sheets twice to a new workbook (Calendar first, or calendar last), and in either way it copies the Named Ranges.
Sorry for not be able to help on this.
Maybe someone else has more experience with this.

I spent a lot of time trying to copy all Named Cells & Functions and they all looked correct after copying the worksheets; but could not get past the errors.
Instead of copying, I tried moving the sheets and this corrected the problems (i.e. all the cells and formatting came over to the new sheet)!
I appreciate your time and consideration in this situation.

This forum is absolutely awesome and, again, I thank you for your time!!!
