How to Use Push/Pull Data from Web-based DB using Excel?

I've been struggling with the following problem. I have a need for multiple individuals across multiple locations in the US to use the same Excel workbook (i.e., each person has a local copy of ExampleWorkbook.xlsm) to push and pull data from a web-based data source (e.g.., Azure SQL Server, Access, Excel workbook hosted on SharePoint). Essentially pressing a button to push data to (i.e., update) database and to query database.

My struggle has been two-fold. What would be the most seamless solution here? Secondly, i'm not familiar with the VBA code necessary to execute push/pulls from DBs.

Any input here?

I use something simular, where we have an access backend database located on a server, and then front end versions on each pc (Using access runtime). It easier to have access create the link between users and server in my opinion, and then have excel connecting localally.
