Making a cell invisible but not delete it

Hello,

Can somebody tell me the formula how to make a specific cell in excel invisible when another cell is a certain value?

For example (If cell A1 has the following tekst ''EURO'', than cell B1 needs to be invisible). But when there is another text at A1, the value in B1 is visible).

Note: It must be invisible but not been removed as the value is still need for a calculation.

You can use conditional formatting to change the foreground colour of B1 to the same as the background colour (usually white) if A1 contains "EURO". The cell will appear blank (as white on white will not show anything, unless highlighted), but it will still contain the value.

Oke. But what would be the formula than?

You would select B1 (and any other cells below it that you want this to apply to, then click on CF | New Rule | Use a Formula... , then use this formula in the dialogue box:

=$A1="EURO"

Click on the Format button | Font tab and on the Color drop-down select white, then OK to exit.
