Ctrl deselect bug, Office Home Business 2016

I can't deselect cells holding control key in the above-mentioned Office edition.
It's the version I'm using at the office, I can deselect just fine at home using the 365 version.

Anyone knows if I can do anything to fix this annoying bug? Is there a macro I can use until Microsoft patches it?

I have 2016 Pro and I see similar behavior. I doubt it is a bug, it's probably intentional, and I am sure you won't see a patch in an Office update. I just opened Excel 2010 and it has a different look but it does the same thing. You can use CTRL to select, but not deselect. There was probably a design change for 365.

I am not aware of a VBA fix but it would probably need to be an add-in.
