Hyperlink to Excel file bypasses the password/read-only prompt

When you open my excel file there's a prompt that says "Read Only or Enter Password", which is what I want. In a different excel file I created a hyperlink to my original excel file, but when you click on the hyperlink the file opens normally and you can save. How can I get the same "Read Only or Enter Password" prompt to show up when I click on the hyperlink?
    Thanks
    Sarah

Nevermind - I figured it out. Something happened when I saved the file in the new location and it lost the "Read Only/Password" prompt. I went back to my original file and copied it into the new location and it works fine now.
