How to display timeline to a deadline?

Guys, wife struggles with putting items in an oven at the right time.
I created this simple Excel sheet to help her out but I'm struggling with graphing it in such a way that preheat time shows on on the left and then cook time with it all culminating at 1PM (dinner time).
    Can you help me out?

Re: How to display timeline to a deadline?

    I made progress.
I got the chart to display in the correct way.
It's not pretty, but it's the best I can do right now.

If I could get your help, I would like to have the start times overlayed over the timeline so that it's easier to follow, rather than moving down to the legend on the bottom.
Also, I'm not sure how to end the chart at the 1 PM serving time, nor how to start it at the earliest prep time. For now, I just manually manipulated the axis to show most relevant start/end times.

I don't have any ideas so far.

I do have some observations and questions.

The first upload indicates variable temperatures.
The items requiring the shortest oven times have the highest temperatures.
    Those variable temperature-times overlap.

It also appears all these items are being prepared in the same oven.
If that is correct how do you reconcile correct temperatures for all items?

Re: How to display timeline to a deadline?

Dave, wife likes to cook for the large family so I got her several ovens.
In Rev.2.0 I'd like to add an option to color code few items that can share ovens. For now, a good graph will suffice.

Another thing I noted is that when I tried to hide certain columns, the values on the graph disappeared?!?
Why would hiding, not deleting columns have any effect on the graph? The data is still there, just not visible.
I was trying to hide columns so that printout only had the important/relevant columns like an item, temp, oven prep time, cook time.
I know I can move the columns way to the right so they're not visible in the 1 sheet print, but I've never seen data disappear from a graph like that.

I have never worked a complex chart (chart is MicroSoft term for graphs now) such as this.

Have you tried searching the web? Be sure to include "chart" in the search terms.

In the meantime this is a good site for specialized charting.

As this is so specialized you might also consider contacting a forum Moderator and requesting they move this thread to the 'Excel Charting & Pivots' subforum. Please do not do this yourself. That's called double posting and a violation of one of the forum rules.
