New to using Data Model - connected CSV files, not imported

    Hi

I am new to using the Data Model feature in Excel and have made connections to several CSV files that will eventually be updated every night so that the charts, pivot tables and other "stuff" that I analyse will show data up to the previous day. I have just updated one of the CSV files, so have gone into the Data model to see if it has picked up the change. It hasn't automatically updated so I clicked on the refresh button. I have tried a few time and cancelled each time as it seemed to be taking a long time. I have now left it running and 30 minutes later it is still going. Are there any settings that I need to look at to speed this up please? Sorry if I'm not giving enough information but I'm so new to this part of excel, I don't know what I don't know (as the saying goes!!)

    Thank you in advance

    Ahhhhh

I have just opened the file where the data is connecting to and it opened a dialogue box where I had to select the file again and import - I'm obviously missing a setting somewhere as I want this to happen automatically without me intervening.

I have now searched and searched and it appears that to refresh data in a data model, I need to interact with the dialogue box and import the source file again? Does that seem mad or am I missing the point? Surely, you work this way so that data in imported without jumping through hoops?
