Questions about the MOS Excel Specialist exam (2016)

I am planning to take this exam and I already did a practice test, which was okay but some of the questions confused me. I hope someone can help me.

But first, is it allowed to use keyboard shortcuts on the exam? Does Certiport's software only look at the end solution, or do I need to do the right steps with my mouse to get all of the points?

Secondly, please look at some of these questions because I really am not sure if I understand what they want from me.

    Question 1

The question was "Change the formatting in C11 to display the column heading on 2 lines. The column heading was on C4, so I don't know why they mentioned cell C11? " I know of only two ways to display text on 2 lines in Excel, and that is the manual way using alt+Enter, and by wrapping the text. But them telling me of a cell (C11) to modify a column's (C) heading - I don't uderstand what they want and how I should do it. Does anyone know what they meant? The C column has a textual heading and dates filled out, if that helps.

    Question 2

"Configure the worksheet so Row 11 and Columns A and B are always visible." Do I only need to freeze rows up to 11 and columns A and B? I doubt they wanted me to do some window-splitting magic and only freeze row 11, right?

    Thank you!

Re: Questions about the MOS Excel Specialist exam (2016)

I haven't done the exam you mention, just applying a bit of logic to what I'm seeing in your post.

The 'C11' part sounds like an error in the question, I would suggest that you query it rather than assume incorrectly.

Question 1. They want the heading on 2 lines, how you do that is up to you. Unless a specific method is mentioned in the question, they should be looking at the end result, not how you do it. If you have to explain how you did it as part of the question then you will probably do better by using the most efficient method than by trying to be clever with something complicated.

Question 2. You can't freeze a single row in the middle of the sheet, anything above the frozen row, or left of the frozen column will be frozen as a whole.
The mention of row 11 is questionable, this could be the same potential error as with C11 in question 1. It would make more sense that you should be freezing the headings (rows and columns) than part of the data.
