shift+space only working on the last group of adjacent cells

Hey, I'm fairly new to Excel and would appreciate any help. I've been banging my head against the wall on this one.

Here's the situation:

• I have selected multiple cells from one particular column.
• Some of the cells are vertically adjacent. Others are separated by one or more rows.
• I need to expand the selection to include entire rows from all currently selected cells.
• When pressing shift+space, shift+left, or shift+right, the selection only expands on the last group of adjacent cells.

Any hints?

If you select multiple cells with the help of keyboard (Shift + Down or Ctrl + Shift + Down) and then press Shift+Space, all the rows shall be selected. If you are selecting various cells with mouse, then I would suggest selecting row headings (while holding the Ctrl) rather than selecting cells.

Thanks Xiang. In my situation, there are thousands of target cells which are scattered over a large spreadsheet. I am selecting the cells through Find All (via the Ctrl+f pop up). Perhaps there's another way to select all of the rows in which the keyword is present?

Update: So apparently there's this thing called Auto Filter...
