    changing the direction of lookup

    Hi,
I have attached two sheets. In the "template" file i have formulas in the 11941 boiler insight tab that successfully pulls data over from the boiler data tab. It looks in row 1 for all the dates and the corresponding data.

I want to recreate this exact same type of look up in the "example" file......except i want it to look for the date in column A instead of row 1. I tried to replace "row" with "column" in the formula but couldn't get it to work. please help!

    thanks!

Re: changing the direction of lookup

Sorry - I have no idea what you are attempting to do here. There is no formula in the example sheet and no expected data.

The INDEX formula you are using in the template sheet looks suspect, anyway, and is probably not the most efficient way to do what you want.

OK. I will have to rethink and try again. Thanks!
